In 1994, after buying our first home in Maumelle, AR, I found peace. I grew up in the small Arkansas town of Mountain Home and after living in the hustle and bustle of Little Rock, I stumbled upon this quaint and very quiet suburb once called New Town. Although I didn’t know a soul there, this, indeed, became my “new town.”

After living in Maumelle a short while, it became apparent that making friends would be easy because people here are so accepting. Maumelle has that old-fashioned community feel with children walking to school, small town festivals, fish fries, civic and church functions welcoming all to attend, and so much more. I was immersed in several small groups such as a baby-sitting coop plus a girls “bunko group” in which I am still a proud member 20 years later!

My New Town was a safe haven to me and it became a huge focus for me in real estate when I began in 1998. Even though I was a fairly new resident, I made friends who provided powerful support and I will be forever grateful to them. Introducing newcomers to Maumelle was easy and therefore boosted my ability to sell homes in this area. This small town packs a powerful punch with numerous events to choose from and amenities such as fishing lakes, parks, walking and biking trails, two golf courses, and great schools. The wonderful residents and talented governing officials shaped this community into a place of easy living and security. And I know many who are introduced to Maumelle love the same things about it that I do.

Great article Tanya!! We love Maumelle too! We moved here in 1992, started our roofing business shortly (here in Maumelle), have built 2 houses, raised 2 kids - have always had so much support from our community! Our town is truly special and unique - we love it here!!
